welcome to the first zip file of one of my fics :) this one is about my most recent, cast no shadow..
the point of these posts is to dissect any pieces of a chapter that i feel are essential to the understanding of it and the following chapters as well! everything pieces together obviously so i wouldnt want to leave anyone with a lot of questions…
the first flashback to eunseoks theater tech class was a look into the eunseok of the past. this is one of few times you will be brought into this setting. a very brief hint into what might explain eunseoks need to impress without any significant achievement is the mention of his parents not being entirely supportive of his career choice. this is explained more in the last conversation sungchan and eunseok have in the final chapter, so i wont make the answer as obvious now, but hes a stubborn person. and his major flaw is not showing any remorse for his pride clearly affecting those around him (sungchan and anton).
introductory character lore if anyone cares
eunseok and sungchan grew up in spring valley, california (san diego county)
(sorry tonikins youre not an east coaster this time) anton grew up in la but also moved to sd for school
wonbin transferred into eunseoks uni as an international student but he moved to sf when he graduated, and his dad got offered a long term position in the company he works for. he makes the music for many small films and loveless was the first major film he wrote the score for.
sungchan attended eunseoks university for a year and a half before he transferred to a school in the bay area. the exact universities arent mentioned because i am not giving the uc’s i dont like free promo (guy who goes to a uc school). he tried to keep in contact with eunseok for more personal matters and not the “childlike dreams” eunseok references.
eunseok has been in 6 films which have all tanked in critic reviews either because of eunseok or his co-stars. he bribed judges at various entertainment awards including the Seven Alternate Universe Equivalent of The Oscars which he managed to get away with. up until the release of in eternal demise where someone got a hand on his transactions of up to 20,000 USD between various people.
you may ask yourself why wonbin is friends with eunseok if he could possibly be a manipulative person who uses others for his own benefit (ie anton). wonbin likes drama... and will get as close to involving himself in it as possible.
note: in eternal demise wasnt eunseoks worst rating wise (7.5/10) but it received a lot of backlash due to poor writing despite the message of the film being something more on the serious side. instead of accepting the flack eunseok bribed the judges for a win against an actor who received a lot of praise in his debut film. obviously, his fans were pissed at eunseok. and thats probably why he got his shit rocked for real this time around.
sungchan has been in less films (4) but they all have accolades. his debut, the townhouse in markham, was a letterboxd headliner if you will. sungchan had less films because he films in south korea, the us, and canada. eunseok stays local like the normie he is (lovehimthough).
