mylastflower yay!! chapter 2!! <3 i'm glad that there are people reading this as it updates or even people waiting for completion to read! i appreciate both of these readers so much T_T
good ol' afterparty... eunseok gets socked in the face. yikes. let's do a little run down about this part
like i said in the last post, and how i assume everyone knows already, eunseok and sungchan fell off hard. and like eunseok admits, it was because of the way his mom accustomed him to live by that made him a prideful liar. i did mention that there wasn't going to be any in-depth stuff about this until the last chapter but huuuu it feels like such important info to keep dragging on until then. also feels like it kills the vibe for me personally if im writing this long lowk depressing chapter to top everything off and you have this which could've been introduced earlier. Maybe That's Just Me Tho.
sungchan struggles a lot with relaying his emotions, so he lets it build up until it becomes physical. this gets mentioned briefly in the next chapter but that's why he spends most of his time doing (Physical) activity to kill off stress. he can't handle the person he becomes when his feelings build up so much and doesn't have an outlet for it that isn't harming himself, or in eunseok's case, harming others.
but yes ! eunseok has never had a life of his own. indeed, he does not cast any shadow because he's basically invisible in the real world. his only genuine accomplishment in school was in drama, and the last time his honors awards were won from his actual effort was the one from that flashback at the end of this chapter. afterwards, his mom bribed teachers for better grades even if he was borderline failing. she forced eunseok into taking honors classes. he was also being pushed into taking the law career path his schools would offer and he hated those classes a lot. he'd often ditch and just stayed in the bathroom. despite the multiple times he got caught he wasn't as disciplined because his schools made more money off his mom's bribes than they ever did with regular donations at fundraisers lol...
eunseok never talked about his issues with sungchan bc he knew his dad was a social worker and could possibly get his whole family into trouble and as much as he hated both of them (his dad for diff reasons) he didn't want to do that since he already was so stressed out without any legal involvements alone. he brushed off his pain as his parents just being rough on him but it was much more than that. so basically, he fell into this hole. and when he finally gained independence it hit him that his life was a lie, and he should continue living in it. but he fucked up real bad by doing this.
sungchan's family was more tranquil but still a very overwhelming household to live in. his mom was in and out of the hospital for years and she passed a month after sungchan's 21st birthday. and as stated, he did go on a hiatus from the industry for sometime to recover. he also fell into a few bad habits himself (re: the importing luxury cigarettes from europe line) during this time but has kept them separate from his professional life.
sungchan's ex girlfriend?? well yes. they were on good terms for the most part. things took a turn for the worst when he flew out to record loveless. she was spotted everywhere in public with other actors and took advantage of the fact sungchan was not as active on social media. he found out through nosy ass wonbin about what was happening. yikes. this warped his perception of a lot of people which is why he paints everybody who lies as an awful person, which is what he assumes eunseok is. eunseok is just a very troubled man, no excuses, but he has a reason.
i think everything else might be a bit straightforward but i feel like a lot of what i talk about needs some visuals omfg. i do have a pinterest board for this fic so i might make it public soon~ chapter 3 will be up eventually hehe. bye
